The author, Tom Goeritz is a true S.O.B....Son of a butcher.

His father owned a grocery store and locker plant. They sold groceries and butchered cows and pigs and processed deer every fall.

Hunting and fishing were simply a part of growing up in the small town of Morristown, MN. Contrary to todays standards, Tom and fellow classmates often carried guns in their cars. They went hunting right after school.

Goeritz describes himself as a pilot, poet, preacher and teacher. Additionally he has sky dived, scuba dived, is a taxidermist and auctioneer. Tom is a 26 year cancer survivor and brain tumor survivor.

At 74 Tom was told he was too old to write a book. That challenge resulted in A Bucket of Frogs — his first book (70 short stories)

His mantra is "Attitude is everything."

Tom has worked in the long term care industry for over 40 years as an Administrator and VP of Operations. At one point he was responsible for 22 nursing homes, two hospitals and two clinics.

He has served on numerous boards and community organizations and takes pride in mentoring younger staff, encouraging them to set goals and challenging them to "push" their limits.
