How far will one clever girl go when she wants to play outside and Dad wants to stay in?

When a monster suddenly stomps into their apartment, Daddy and Sofia must figure out exactly what kind of monster they're facing and what they're going to do about it!

Sofia's Monster is a heartwarming children's picture book that celebrates the power of imagination and the special bond between a parent and child.

Why kids, parents, and educators will love this book:

  • A Delightfully Silly Character: Meet a monster that brushes its long, soft hair with a toothbrush, wears shark underwear, and has little butterfly wings.

  • Heartwarming Father-Daughter Connection: Highlights a loving relationship built on humor, togetherness, and shared creativity.

  • Encourages Screen-Free Play: Inspires young readers to use their own boundless imaginations to solve problems and create their own adventure.

  • The Perfect Read-Aloud: Engaging dialogue and playful imagery make this an ideal choice for bedtime reading, classroom storytime, or family snuggles.

Perfect for fans of funny monster stories and sweet family tales, Sofia's Monster is a charming addition to any home or school library for kids ages 3 to 7.

Daniel Wolfe is a children's book author living in Fargo, North Dakota. His stories are inspired by and written for his own two kids but are relatable for kids everywhere. Daniel creates books that encourage kids to snuggle up with a loved one, so that they may enjoy the stories together. His books resonate with kids right where they are developmentally, so as to spark imagination, encourage play, and create cherished reading moments for families everywhere. Daniel published his first book, The Red Ball, in 2025, followed later that year by Sofia's Monster. Both stories have been illustrated by his sister, Julia J. Wolfe. When he's not writing, Daniel keeps busy with his other two full-time jobs: a father and private tutor.

Julia J. Wolfe is a multidisciplinary artist whose professional art practice whimsically reflects on life under late-stage capitalism. She has always loved drawing, reading comics strips, and creating goofy characters - Calvin & Hobbes is still a big influence. She lives in Rochester, NY with her husband, two cats, two dogs, and too many houseplants.
