Author Stephany Coakley’s ~ Tye The Dreamer ~ is a well-timed children’s book brimming with all the core fundamentals any proud parent would want to encourage (or see) in their child’s development. This is a wonderfully easy to read book that ALL children will want to read over and over and over again. I simply could not put it down. I had a very good feeling reading this book, especially in these pandemic times. Seriously!
In ~ Tye The Dreamer ~ Stephany has very cleverly revealed an essential ingredient for encouraging constructive growth in children … Dreaming! Albert Einstein once said: “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination.” If you can dream it you can imagine it and if you can imagine it, it will become reality…Your reality. But, encouraging children to dream (and to work at it) is just part of the development process, according to the author. Tye The Dreamer ~ is also about, unpredictably, a very special relationship between Stephany’s young girl character (Tye) and her dad. This was especially observant when compared to the imagined relationship between a father and, say, a son. An atypical, but yet a very comfortable twist for a father and daughter connection.
Lastly, the illustrations of ~ Tye The Dreamer ~ by Dakotah Aiyanna are truly remarkable and aided so exceptionally well telling Stephany’s dream chronicles of a child of color with BIG dreams. Kudos to Dakotah for a job well done! This is a must read for EVERY child who dares to dream, and who would know that better than a caring and loving father. Have BIG DREAMS like Tye, and you will grow into them. That’s a promise!
