If you want to improve your posture but are tired of the advice from your typical posture training book, What Your Body Wants You to Know offers a different approach. Discover the basic principles of the Alexander Technique, a holistic method that's been helping people with pain management and posture alignment for over 125 years.

Your parents were annoying when they nagged you to stop slouching. But their advice wasn't that off track. Your posture affects not only how you look, but also how you feel and move. Unfortunately, we too often address poor posture as simply trying to stand up straight and pull our shoulders back.

But it's not the whole story. Posture is a lot more interesting than that.

A true mind-body approach, the Alexander Technique understands that how you think affects how you move and knows your habitual tension patterns are often at the heart of your problems.

Lauren K. Hill has been teaching the Alexander Technique for over twenty years. The method has also been integral in her personal journey of managing chronic pain that started at age nineteen.

What Your Body Wants You to Know shares:

  • a fun, easy, and practical introduction to the principles of the Alexander Technique,
  • over twenty-five activities and reflections to encourage better body awareness, posture, and movement,
  • recommendations for small adjustments to achieve big relief, and
  • a compassionate approach to recognizing and dismantling harmful habits.

Discover how, with a few small shifts in mindset and movement, you can approach your posture differently, harness your mind-body connection, and start building healthy habits for a lifetime.

Start your journey now.

Lauren K. Hill has been an AmSAT-certified teacher of the Alexander Technique for over two decades. She began studying the Alexander Technique in her twenties while looking for help managing chronic neck, shoulder, and back pain. Besides the physical relief she found with the Alexander Technique, she was also drawn to its simple and practical nature. She's continually fascinated by this work, more than twenty-five years since her first Alexander lesson.

Lauren loves helping her students learn the skills of the Alexander Technique—and watching them use those skills to make positive changes in their lives. She believes that a good teacher should be a "guide by your side" rather than a "sage on the stage."

Lauren knows that small changes have the power to transform our lives and relationships with our bodies.
