"Dr. Tonya Jackman Hampton tackles a common myth about successful leaders—that they are 'fearless.' While this may appear to be at worst a harmless myth, it actually gets in the way of understanding how true leaders experience, respond to, and even leverage their fears to drive success. What Dr. Jackman Hampton has given to current and future leaders is a remarkable resource that is both rigorously researched and deeply personal. Knowing our fears can be the key that unlocks next-level leadership!" - —Bill Woodson, vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Hobart and William Smith Colleges

"Dr. Tonya Jackman Hampton's book, The Myth of the Fearless Leader, is an eye-opener for leaders maneuvering through present and future challenges. As a Black woman in leadership, I once adorned myself with the label 'fearless,' only to realize its fallacy. She offers a transformative framework, practical solutions, and practice exercises, allowing us to embrace fear without the weight of weakness or guilt, liberating us from the pressure of unrealistic expectations. This book is a smart, touching, and powerful road map, guiding us from the illusion of 'No Fear' to a deeper understanding of 'Know Fear.' It's an insightful companion for a less stressful, more authentic leadership journey." - —Rosalyn Taylor O’Neale, author of 7 Keys 2 Success: Nothing’s Changed But Everything’s Different
