Sara doesn't like slimy, wiggly worms.

She doesn't like long drives to the lake or sitting still and waiting for her bobber to go down. She doesn't like it when someone else takes the fishing pole she wanted most.

But with some help from Grandpa and her big sister Molly, and with some bravery and patience, Sara might just learn how fun fishing really is.

Sara Goes Fishing is a fun, heartfelt, beautifully illustrated celebration of family and all the things we do together—even when those things take some getting used to.

Carin Thoms grew up on a farm with her three younger sisters. They spent summer vacations fishing with their grandparents and cousins in central Wisconsin; Carin wrote this book based on those memories after trying and failing to find books about girls fishing for her young nieces. She hopes to inspire girls of all ages to fish and have fun outdoors.

Carin is a combat veteran with a background in higher education and communication. She spends her free time outdoors with her husband. You can often find her biking or fishing while trying to avoid getting dirt and worm guts all over the boat. Carin's future plans include a business centered on boating and fishing that encourages families to enjoy fishing and the outdoors.
