Some of us have stories that everyone can see . . .
It's my set of scars that walk around with me!
My Scars, My Brave Adventure is the story of a real little girl who went through not one, not two, but eight pediatric surgeries that gave her eight different scars. Rather than hide her scars, she wears them proudly to show her courage and to remind us all that it's okay to talk about our differences. This sweet, rhyming book encourages kids and adults to embrace what makes us different and to celebrate our own individual stories!
Katy Green is the author of My Scars, My Brave Adventure, a book inspired by her daughter's journey through numerous pediatric surgeries and medical procedures. This is Katy's first children's book. Prior to becoming an author, Katy worked as a special education teacher earning national board certification. She is a former Division 1 college athlete, a wife, and the mother to three children. As a mother and former educator, Katy knows the power that books can inspire in children, teaching important lessons, and bringing awareness to difficult topics. Katy lives in Chicago where she loves to run along Lake Michigan, indulge in the city's many culinary treats, and spend time at the parks and museums with her husband and children.
