Janet Nelson is an early childhood educator in Minnesota. She has great appreciation for different cultures and languages from all over the world. She moved to the United States of America from Kenya when she was a young adult. Family and meaningful relationships with friends and others are important to her. She is married, with two sons.

Eh Soe Dwe is a Karen/K'Nyaw artist best known for her colorful and playful illustrations. She recreates stories told from her ancestors to visually express and celebrate the culture, values, and dreams of the K'Nyaw people. She has written countless comics, both a little humorous and sometimes emotional, shared on her online platform (@ehsoesart). This is her first published picture book. She is currently based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.
