Sixteen-year- old Legacy Loving lives in the ideal setting -- a sun-bleached island off the Gulf Coast of Florida. She works part-time at a wildlife refuge loves the outdoors and enjoys spending time swimming boating and exploring secret hiding places of pirates and buried treasure with the attractive son of her boss. Her life is perfect -- until her sister mysteriously disappears an oil rig explodes offshore and the turquoise waters seashell-scattered beaches and exotic wildlife of the island are threatened with destruction. Legacy is suddenly challenged to determine who she is what she is made of and how she will save all that she loves. Legacy is a powerful story about friendship leadership and becoming an adult -- where the joy and innocence of youth suddenly meets the harsh reality that nothing in this world is secure that families change and that even the environment in which we live can be destroyed.
