In the pages of this unique book. the story of the Minnesota Twins is told through brief pieces of text accompanied by spectacular photos of pennants jerseys championship rings ticket stubs signed baseballs commemorative items and other pieces of memorabilia. The early pages cover baseball in Minnesota before the Twins arrived when town ball minor league teams and exhibition games were widespread. In subsequent chapters, we relive the Twins' arrival from Washington D.C. their World Series appearances and also the near misses. Individual achievements are also on display from the bat with which Harmon Killebrew hit his 573rd home run to Rod Carew's spikes and Kirby Puckett's Silver Slugger award.

Memorabilia from Metropolitan Stadium the Metrodome and Target Field are included. The bobbleheads, Homer Hankies, programs and other souvenirs will bring back memories as will the entries on Halsey Hall, Herb Carneal and other beloved announcers who have added so much excitement to the game.


Clyde Doepner was born and raised in North St. Paul Minnesota. He began collecting Twins memorabilia at an early age and his collection was enhanced by a personal friendship with former Twins owner Cal Griffith. He has displayed items from his collection yearly at Twinsfest since its inaugural show in 1989 and he travels extensively throughout Twins Territory setting up displays and giving presentations utilizing Twins memorabilia. In 1999 Clyde became the first "full-time" curator in Major League baseball with a job description that included collecting preserving displaying archiving listing labeling and giving tours of Target Field. He assists fellow historians and authors on baseball-related projects and has written numerous articles about Twins' history and collecting in general.
