An unflinching yet humorous observation of the most deplorable characters associated with the January 6th insurrection on the U.S. Capital. With limericks accompanying the visualization of this haphazard band of Trumpites, the contents showcase the unfortunates involved in one of the most egregious occurrences in American history. The actions taken before, during, and after January 6th are stomach-churning. With the injection of visual humor, the significance of the day is brought to life in a battle cry to the reader to remain vigilant and never lose sight of the acts surrounding the near-collapse of democracy in the United States.
Tim Doyle is an award-winning political illustrator/humorist whose previous books were the acclaimed 'Welcome to the Swamp': An Illustrated Journey into the Deplorable World of Donald J. Trump and 2021: A Year in Review "THE AFTERMATH". Tim's acute eye for detail and resolve to present images truthfully have been developed by working as a commercial photographer/film-maker in a previous career. During this time, Tim received numerous awards both nationally and internationally. Tyranny is his latest effort to bring humor into a dark period of political upheaval. Influenced by the biting satire of Ralph Steadman and the surreal imagery of Gary Larson, he has been able to distill the broad range of political misfortune into an accurate portrayal of wrongs within the system. Tim's plans are to continue raising awareness of political failures through his artwork, encouraging active engagement in social change. As the late U.S. Representative and social activist John Lewis said, "When you see something that is not right, not fair, not just, say something! Do something! Get in trouble! Good trouble!"
Tim's academic past has included a diploma in photography from the Center for Creative Studies, Detroit, a BFA in drawing from Wayne State University, Detroit, and a post-graduate diploma from the London Film School, London, England.
Tim resides between London, England, and the US.
