Wes Erwin writes picture books and middle-grade novels. He is the author of Boundary Waters ABC and Fire and Ashes: A Boy and an African Proverb (co-authored with Ahmed Hassan). Wes loves sharing his books with children through book signings and readings. Wes and his spouse have fond memories of bringing their oldest son into the Boundary Waters to celebrate his first birthday. They continue to enjoy family trips to the Boundary Waters. Wes has a PhD in counseling from the University of Iowa and is a licensed counselor. In his spare time, he enjoys canoe camping, basketball, and serving as a BSA Scoutmaster. He, his wife, and their two sons live in Shoreview, Minnesota.

Chris Hahn is a retired physical education teacher, graphic designer, and illustrator living in northwestern Minnesota. Growing up in Colorado, he developed a love of the outdoors, especially the Rocky Mountains. He now enjoys sharing his love of nature with his family: daughter Logan, daughter Aftyn, and wife, Nikki. In his freetime, Chris frequently goes fly-fishing for monster bass, pike, or muskie; flies down his homemade ziplines; or coaches volleyball players for a division III college in Moorhead, Minnesota. Chris's oldest daughter was born with cystic fibrosis, and Chris and his family actively raise awareness for kids who battle this genetic disorder.
