Flynn and his Flies: A Credit Worthy Story with watercolor illustrations and written in rhyming verse can be read aloud to young children, read by the early reader and enjoyed by all ages. A few large words are introduced in this easier reader chapter book, including amphibian. Frogs, salamanders and toads are the amphibian characters in the story who get themselves into some sort of financial debt. Flynn is the first to realize that...

It is not greed, it is not a trick,

It is a simple matter of arithmetic.

It can happen to anyone, including Abigail the wise owl. Abigail takes responsibility for finding a solution to a problem that not everyone can solve. Taking care of the most sensitive ones, including protecting their environment, results in a healthy world for everyone. Flynn and his Flies strives to show that both economic and environmental stability are necessary for a society to thrive.

V.A.Halliday has had a passion for children's books starting with a pile of books given to her by her mother, from her childhood, which in turn were read to her own children when they were young. Fascinated by the history of children's literature as a means of educating and teaching through imaginative storytelling and illustration, V.A.Halliday believes that children's books play an important role in establishing a lifelong love for reading, learning and imagining.

V.A.Halliday has drawn, painted and enjoyed assembling things since childhood. She received a BFA from Cornell University where she studied printmaking, including bookmaking. A personal study of children's literature began while reading to her children when they were young. This grew into an appreciation of the magic books bring to childhood; allowing them to travel around the world, throughout history, live any life, get to know anyone and learn life lessons in an entertaining way. V.A.Halliday combined her art background with her love of storytelling to turn a box of jotted down stories and scribbled sketches into books.
