Something—or someone—has put in the order to abate humankind, and it's all starting in the Iowa suburb where young Cedar Price lives. Not an ideal time to be a nonverbal four-year-old kid.

While Cedar's whistleblower dad is being hounded by a corporate goon squad, and Cedar's mom is trapped at a cultish silent retreat that's anything but, squirrels are bumping off garbage men. Monkeys are crashing birthday parties. Pigeons are dive-bombing ad execs. Iguanas are taking down dental clinics. It seems every small, harmless creature suddenly . . . isn't.

What's going on—and how will people survive?

The answers have something to do with aliens, Bigfoot, postmenopausal women, Muhammad Ali, interns, the creative power of community, and, of course, young Cedar Price.

The end of the world has never felt so right in this genre-bending graphic novel, illustrated with disarming charm and depth.

Lily Baber Coyle runs Beaver's Pond Press in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She's blessed to share her life with gifted filmmaker Patrick Coyle, their phenomenal daughters, Clara and Ruby, and a very dear dog. (There's always a dog.)

She owes credit for all success to her wicked cool mom, her unforgettable dad, and an epic constellation of blood, step, half, in-law, outlaw, work, and chosen family, plus ancestors like Great Aunt Joan of Arc, if the family tree is for real.

Other than those eight years spent enlisted in the U.S. Navy, Lily knows she is a highly privileged Earthling and tries sincerely to remember that each day.
