Anjesa Rexha's mysterious disappearance amid late 1990s Albanian's chaos of financial pyramids and human trafficking shattered her life, family and her sister Besa. Even after 15 years of searching for Anjeza, her sister Besa never gave up on searching for her sister. One sister eventually surfaces in the United States, the other remains in Albania. Both sisters are shaped by the contradictory power and trauma of their relationships with men. Their paths converge when Jim, an American soldier and FBI agent, battling his own demons, accidentally enters the life of one sister. What happened next to Rexha's family and how this family navigates through pain, politics, loyalty and love, is something that this novel introduces to the readers, blending a few Albanian native elements and traditions. This story evolves among two countries United States and Albania, paralel timelines and blending dark humor, sensuality, intense emotions and heartbreaks.

Suela Baçe came to United States from Albania with her family in 2005. Before she came to the United States, she worked in journalism and in the publishing industry.
