"When a Vancouver timber cruiser signs on for a treasure hunt for the long-lost 'Loot of Lima' he finds more heartbreak, hilarity, danger, disaster, and insanity aboard the tuna clipper Sweet Fanny Adams than he's ever seen in the forests of British Columbia. Part modern pirate adventure, part evocation of a much-loved country, part love story, The Crooked Albatross and Sweet Fanny Adams throws an improbable mix of human beings into the backwaters of Costa Rica and tracks their shenanigans in a tale you won't forget." - Katie McCabe, author of Justice Older than the Law

Have you read all those author's biographies listing all their strange pursuits? Well Leigh Cross is no different. Excepting the priesthood he followed most of the occupations he's written about: Korean War Veteran, pilot, sailor, logger, horse-farmer, machinist, cellist, music historian - is that enough? He hopes so. Leigh was born an American but he got over it. He currently lives in Vancouver and when he's not writing he builds Art Nouveau furniture and is developing an electric tricycle.

Holy cow! Is he still here? Call for the men in the white coats with the big white laundry bag!

"Every point-blank pistol shot in a soft belly every cutlass slash spurting bright blood into the fire-light it was one less share for the crew and one more for Captain Thompson." - J. Ratcliffe
