In this swimming picture book, join Vera and her family for a day of summer fun in Grandpa's pool!

The grandkids swim for pool toys, learn to dive, and remember Grandma with fun family traditions like playing Marco Polo.

A perfect gift from grandparents who have a pool, lake, or just like swimming with their grandkids.

Fans of Jabari Jumps and How to Babysit a Grandpa will love this sweet story of summer fun with grandparents.

Jerry Gale has a backyard pool and three grandchildren. They are not named Vera, Chuck, and Davie. He borrowed those names from the Beatles song, "When I'm Sixty-Four." He thought other grandparents would find this amusing.

He hopes you enjoy his book and enjoy swimming with your family. And by the way, he's really terrible at doing a jackknife dive off the diving board. Jerry lives in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Darcy Bell-Myers cherishes many memories of swimming in her Grandma's pool as a little girl. She's the illustrator of books that include Cameron Goes to School, Shiva's Dance, Needles: The First Christmas Tree, Mary Emma Walk!, Wyatt's Big Day, Treasure's Gift, Emmy and the Rude Rooster, Grandma Has Wings, and Higgledy Piggledy. She is the author of The Animal Babies ABC Book of Ballet. She lives in Stillwater, Minnesota.

"This is a delightful children's book written by a grandpa about having his grandchildren over to swim in his backyard pool. I've already read this to my 3yr old grandson at naptime and he was mesmerized by it! Then at bedtime, he requested it again! It's a well-written book that children can easily understand and relate to. It is also beautifully illustrated. I can't wait to share it with our 6 yr old granddaughter when we see her soon. She might even be able to read it to me soon. Thank you, Jerry Gale, for this great book. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future!" - Norma DeJong

"This book is one my toddler asks to read over and over again. The pictures show how the kids and grandpa do different dives into the water which is fun. There's a heartfelt part where the grandpa is missing the grandma. It's very sweet." - Anthony Wells
