A new author in the area of children's literature Deborah Delois Harris is the second oldest daughter in a family of 10 children and the first in her family to graduate from college. She earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas in 1983 and a master's degree in Adult Education and Distance Learning from the University of Phoenix in 2004. Deborah spent her formative years in Camden Arkansas but after enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1984 she has lived and worked all over the world to include Kaiserslautern Germany and Panama City Panama. Retiring after 20 years of military service Deborah currently lives in Southern Maryland and works in Washington D.C. as a Career Development Officer for the Department of Defense. When not writing or working in D.C. Deborah spends her free time with her family and friends and on nice weather days horseback riding in Southern Maryland.
