Product Description
When HandsOn Twin Cities formed in 1919, it was originally the Volunteer Service Bureau, a force mobilized to capture the skills and needs of people post–World War I. When the local chapters officially joined the national organization of HandsOn in 2005, it joined an ever-expanding network of volunteers with the will to change our country for the better. Over a century of name changes and social flux later, HandsOn Twin Cities celebrates its long-standing commitment to spreading the joy and benefit of volunteerism in Minnesota’s great communities.
Inside, find the stories of 100 different volunteers as they recount the memories that keep them coming back to help where they are needed. Whether new or seasoned volunteers, dog or equine therapy, food shelf or food kitchen, the volunteers in these pages all share the same dream: to see the Twin Cities thrive, one volunteer’s impact at a time.
HandsOn Twin Cities is the Twin Cities’ only full-service volunteer center that both promotes and facilitates volunteerism while improving the community’s ability to create more impact with the time generously given by volunteers. HandsOn works with all types of volunteers, companies and nonprofit affiliates to ensure that every hour spent in the community is valuable. Building on 100 years of experience as the nation’s first volunteer center, HandsOn Twin Cities, and its 400 nonprofit partners, gives communities the opportunities to Be the Change.
